NPR's "Idea" of why Gold is money

This is very similar to how my Gen Chem 1 teacher gave for gold being money. It is interesting to see “MSM” looking at why gold is money- and they do have part of it.

Interesting piece. Wonder how they´re going to describe the switch to a paper money system without the words outright and fraud.

Well, it assumes that money must be an element. There’s no reason to assume this. But, among pure elements, it is interesting that precious metals can be identified purely by their physical properties and their abundance on this planet.
