I was watching this video

And I also have Mr. Woods’ book on the subject, and one of his arguments is that the states created the federal government, not the other way around, so the so the states have the rights to nullify unconstituional laws. (The argument’s abit more complex but this is a basic aspact of it.)

But my objection is what about the states like california, or montana (where i live) that were created by the federal government? Couldent one term of admitence to the union that they subject to the laws of the federal government?

I know Virgina was told that they would be not be bound by unconstiuional laws. But why sould this apply to other states? Especially states that federal government did infact create.

I’m not agenst nullification, I just dont know how to responed if somone were to make this objection.

I can’t remember specifically, but I recall there being a court decision that granted all states equal powers relative to the federal government.
