Funny article
LOL Awesome aritcle)
The original NYT article was probably written around the year 2000.

The funny thing is that there is actually a link to the original NYT article in the right corner of the page:
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/02/world/asia/osama-bin-laden-is-killed.html
More like The Emperor said that Darth Vader killed the radical Count Duco.
I disagree with comparison of Obi-Wan Kenobi to bin Laden. From my basic knowledge of Star Wars, Kenobi did not massacre innocent people. If Vader is used as a stand-in for Obama, Emperor Palpatine is the stand-in for who?
Still, the article may be more for the purpose of entertainment than conveying a serious message.
The comments rock.
Obi-Wan was a General during the Clone Wars. As you might recall the war was sparked over a controversy on whether planets could withdraw from the Republic. Don’t let the rebel propaganda fool you, he was little better than the Emperor in the grander scheme of things.
Indeed. No one ever considers that, seeing as how the Republic was incredibly corrupt, maybe the Confederacy should have been allowed to secede.
Lol the comments are a supreme gold mine.
But, but…
The Clone Wars were fought to end slavery! Or at least to stop it from spreading to the Outer Rim…
I’m pretty sure the empire wasnt actively looking for Kenobi the way the US was actively looking for Bin Ladin.
They should make one where Darth Vader declares his “birth certificate” and tries to cut wings from consipracies which claim that he is actually a Jedi hero Anakin Skywalker.
Only a small fraction of the population in the CIS owned droids. No more than five percent of them owned a droid by the beginning of the Clone Wars, and only a small fraction of that (0.05% of the total population) owned more than two droids. Why would the rest of the CIS fought the Clone Wars over the issue of droid bondage? It was about the insane tariffs imposed on them! They could have been trading outside the gallery if they didn’t spend so much in tribute payments to the Republic.
This must’ve been from earlier reportings. Later reportings said that Obi Wan was unarmed and outnumbered. The woman was shot in the knee while trying to get between Obi Wan and the stormtroopers. Unarmed Obi Wan was then shot in the head by the stormtroopers when he tried to "resist arrest’.
A stormtrooper reported that he wasn’t sure whether Obi Wan was raising his hands in surrender or was going to use the Force to quote “Raise the roof.” which could have been dangerous to himself and his fellow stormtroopers.
Reporters later asked Darth Vader why he allowed the fact that Obi Wan was unarmed to be released to the public, but thought the pictures of his body were too gruesome. Unethical to show a dead body, but ethical to shoot an unarmed man?
“For the luls.” said Darth Vader.
