This is interesting, thought-provoking and relevant on so many levels:

  1. The future is here! The future officially started a few years ago, great time to be alive. I hope the reactionaries don’t tare it down.

  2. Private space shuttles are viable. Who ever said that the government has to do this stuff?

  3. The development of this shuttle makes a good argument for supply-side economics: Everyone can see that it requires scarce resources to be produced: metal, oil, engineers; resources with alternative uses. No amount of “demand” or expropriating money from “the rich” can make this shuttle appear out of thin air.

  4. If the structure of production wasn’t distorted by intervention, and if humanity hadn’t wasted huge amounts of resources on bombs in the last century, how much sooner would we have gotten this shuttle? Maybe decades ago? Maybe space-travel would be commonly available to every “poor” person like microwave ovens and air-conditioning are today?
