There are a lot of passages form the bibble that allegedly support this assertion, but they’re extremely vague and require heavy analysis. Here are some quotes, though. Either way, this is the position held by the Dispensational Evangelical’s, so whether you believe it or not is immaterial.
“For the Israelites will live many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred stones, without ephod or idol. Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the LORD and to his blessings in the last days. (Hosea 3:4-5)”
“In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the sea. He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; he will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth. (Isaiah)”

This is talking about the last days. Not sure where this is referencing the rebuilding of an earthly temple. When I referenced this chapter and verse you gave, it appears to concur with this being about the last days in which spiritual people will seek God. Again this chapter in my bible refers me to this verse: Jeremiah 50:4, 5:
This is referring to the spiritual “sons of Israel” (not just biological Israelities) in which “they will seek… To Zion” (which is the holy mountain, God’s Kingdom which is spiritual, not solely a physical temple but rather a spiritual house (1 Pe. 2:5; Eph. 2: 19-22).

That’s the second book of Thessalonians. It is curious. Because it is talking about Satan and somebody of Satan who is the “son of destruction” and “he takes his seat in the Temple of God” making himself or “displaying himself as being God” when he really isn’t. Like all the haughty, hubris kings of the earthly empires of old and including today, ie. U.S., Britain Empires. I don’t know if this “Temple of God” is an earthly one in which it is built, as you are saying, but then a “son of destruction” sits there pretending to be as God. Or is this “Temple of God” a spiritual temple in which the “son of destruction” sits upon, again, pretending to be above all, including God? I would need more material, time, and knowledge to know for sure. Interesting Esuric.
