I started a petition at the White House petition site. Possibly someone would like to sign it.

We petition the Obama administration to:Legalize Gambling.

The administration should take all steps it can on its own to remove legal penalties for gambling. The administration should work with Congress to repeal all laws penalizing gambling. Any presidential orders, directives, etc. penalizing gambling should be revoked. Laws, directives, etc. penalizing credit card companies and other similar companies for engaging in transactions involving gambling should be repealed or revoked. The administration should take whatever measures it can to encourage state and local governments to remove laws penalizing gambling. The administration should act to withdraw the United States from any treaties that penalize gambling.

are you really serious in getting gmabling leaglize as it would have a bitter effect on new genration as lot of money will be wasted . In such a hard time where peoples income is to low if Gmabling would be legalize then lot of people would not even have to eat any thing and they would just money on this Gambling so think about it.

Yes, because we all know Las Vegas and Macau are renowned for the masses of starving tourists returning to their homelands. Curiously enough, my own city of Auckland has legalized gambling in the form of the Sky City Casino, which is located in the Sky Tower, the big, CN/Space Needle-esque tower (which, just as a matter of interest, got a similar building built in Macau by a Chinese entrepeneur who liked the design). I go to the central district of Auckland and pass through the CBD on a near-weekly basis, yet curiously, the closest thing to an indicator of poverty I’ve seen is a few amateur musicians playing the old guitar-and-coin-in-hat game on street corners. I have also visited the Sky Tower on numerous occasions, and while I can’t say I’ve taken that good a look at the clientele of the casino area, none of them seemed even mildly famished, let alone starving.

In any case, the new generation’s money is already wasted (by politicians and bureaucrats who tax the shirts off their backs to pay for their lavish, unionized jobs and on “insurance” Ponzi schemes), so it’s a moot point.
