The Dutch chapter has appeared on a big Dutch news site today ( http://www.nu.nl/internet/2223941/piratenpartij-wil-vrije-informatiesamenleving.html ), with the title “Pirate Party wants towards a free* information society”.

*free as in free to copy, not free as in free healthcare

It would be good if there was an established link with Austrian Economics; similar to the cooperation between Stephan Kinsella and Nina Paley (of QuestionCopyright.org).

Are any of them commie of socialist in any way?

I don’t get that vibe from them. It think their experiences inform them that innovation is possible (and probably moreso) under a ‘copying is not theft’ model.

They’re also very outraged with the encroachment of government power lead by corporate interests.

So I don’t think there is anything socialist in their roots.

In Sweden, there are som libertarians involved in the pirate movement, but there are also commies and other leftist scum. Some are just genuine pirates who mostly care about freedom of information and freedom of speech.
