Why. Why do people think that government gives a damn about your security or prosperity. Why is it automatically assumed they’ll do their job? Won’t they just do the most politically profitable things instead? Give money to their buddies, make voters dependent on them for handouts… No one can deny that George Bush benefitted from the 9-11 attacks. Even if you don’t think its a conspiracy, you have to admit he probably wasn’t trying very hard to stop them. We got owned by box cutters and people still believe in statist security…
