President Obama defines "government" at University of Michigan

They aren’t my responsibility and neither are you.

You can believe whatever you want, it really doesn’t matter does it?

The power of our national defense ought to be measured by how well we defend ourselves, which isn’t measured by how many innocent brown people we can kill in the middle east. Although, as a realist, you are probably measuring Power = d^2(mv)/dt^2. Yes we can blow up a lot of stuff.

Oh I was under the impression that you were a middle class young person about to enter the workforce, in which case your assets are entirely in dollars, and your only source of income is a sallary paid in fixed dollars. I suppose that’s not the case.

Why would the baker desire a bread machine? Its way better.

How are you on an economics forum if you don’t even value economic progress?

sigh Im out for the night. Peace (or violence, if you prefer)

Well you and your father aren’t their responsibility, right? Why should they have to pay for your father’s Medicare?

Okay. We get it already. All you care about in the world is bleeding everyone else around you for money and jewification every day of the week.

I suppose you’re asking why they should have to morally but I don’t know how that matters. They’re required to by law. Whether they should or shouldn’t have to is irrelevant to me. Change the law and they won’t have to. Otherwise they will have to.

I place priority on my interests versus other people’s.

Well whether they have to by law is irrelevant to me. It matters because all you’re saying is “that’s how it works and shouldn’t be changed because I like how it works/it works out fine.” I’m asking you why you’re opposed to better options. And indeed I am asking you if others paying your father’s medicare is moral or not.

“Oh I was under the impression that you were a middle class young person about to enter the workforce, in which case your assets are entirely in dollars, and your only source of income is a sallary paid in fixed dollars. I suppose that’s not the case.”

No, I inherited a fair amount of money a few years ago and I stand to inherit more when my father dies. I’m middle class and I will have to work but I will also own assets that are likely to gain value as the dollar depreciates. If I get my bets wrong then I’m screwed and I’ll probably end up needing to take advantage of social programs.

Ok, and?

Better options to whom? This works out pretty well for me.

I don’t care if it’s moral or not, but I can see that you do.

That would be a false dichotomy if other’s interests are your own interests. For example, the jews in Israel that you always say you want Americans to be slaves to serve. Except you don’t seem to care about their interests either. Or do you? Maybe you just don’t care about any non-jews in the world. That is probably it.

I care but Jewish interests tend to take priority for me.

Before Jewish interest I place my own. My interest is the most important thing to me. I calculate which option will best serve me and pursue it.

So if someone walked up to you and said “you have to pay for this man’s medicare,” would you? Would you feel that it is just?

Does the law say I have to pay?

Either there is no law, or the person asking you is a representative of the “law” a bunch of men in suits hundreds of miles away created.

Which ever it is (which is irrelevant), answer the questions.

Suppose hyptohetically that the Democratic Party platform became “Kill all jews”. How would you react to that?

"Either there is no law, or the person asking you is a representative of the “law” a bunch of men in suits hundreds of miles away created.

Which ever it is (which is irrelevant), answer the questions."

It is anything but irrevelvant, it can be the difference between prosperity or Greece.

It is irrelevant in the sense that it doesn’t matter where the notion “you have to pay” is coming from. In either situation someone is forcing you to do something, and I want to know what he’ll do and how he feels about it.

You really haven’t answered the question but I’ll answer yours anyway. If it can be shown to me that the law says I must pay then I will pay. I will then try to have the law changed. But I will not disobey the law if it exists.

I would jump for joy. It would be one of the worst political moves any party could make, especially since so many liberal Jews would inevitably leave the party, not to mention any other ethnic groups who would fear similar treatment was about to fall on them.
