Privatization of the FDA

this is still so off. a long time ago simply HAVING food and medicine at an affordable price was a huge deal. the biggest food safety issue was STARVING TO DEATH.

the way it works is as soon as there is any serious talk of some kind of private service for such things, some enterprising bureaucrat gets wind of it and a new government department is created, funded, and springs into action. the gov’t agency immediately starts crowding out and often directly restricting any potential competition, and lo and behold, there is no private alternative. the unseen, man. the unseen.

There was no problem until the government said there was. By definition of what can actually be observed and spoken of, there was no problem. There were intellectuals, and a system that could define narratives and context to their advantage to be sure; but there was no problem that required an FDA for the market to solve.
