It is not conceivable that this human response will decrease in socialism. Without the profit constraints of capitalism, such major problems can be dealt with quickly and satisfactorily

Oh wow, for the longest time I read this as if you meant what you had there, and I was about to go into a long response about how the response would decrease due to lower overall wealth and also about how the profit motive actually helps bring relief to disaster areas.

I think this is an excellent point, because, as we all know, socialism acts very much like a natural disaster, obliterating wealth and leaving a swath of destruction in its wake.
