Has there been any studies on these types of unions? I mean do the majority of players actually care for them? I hope this isn’t a horrible question , it’s just something that came to mind.
Never heard of them. What do they do? Demand a minimum wage and an end of transfers from abroad?
I was going to try to write about sports collective bargaining, but I never had the time plus I don’t like writing formal pieces because I am a relentless self-editor.
It’s a great field to cover because it has an enormous online constituency. If someone was to write about this stuff for LvMI daily articles, and write about it well, it could get a lot of new eyeballs over here.

I would imagine a union wouldn’t be as fitting for the major leagues so much as a cartel would. The biggest baseball players could make some kind of bourgeois club or something, but the softballs players, minor leagues, farm teams, etc could form a union system.
