There is an idea held by some AnCaps that improving parenting practices will lead to rejection of authority and help in the abolition of the state. A video giving a rough explanation of the idea can be found here. So, what are your views on the plausibility of the idea?
There is no guarantee that your child will be an ancap.
Your point is? The first states were the outgrowths of religious cults. The cults were so appealing because the people brought up in these societies grew up in infanticidal conditions. Please, put more effort into understanding the idea.
To me, personally, it is very obvious, that is the only way we can reach free society - through proper parenting and education. No other way is as long term as this. Yes, economically USA may crash, other countries may crash, but people do not learn from history.
I used to look down on this theory but lately I’ve been thinking on what a contrast did my own parents raise me compared to my friend’s parents. Me and my siblings where allowed immense freedom to screw up what we liked, and since our parents never interfered in our fights, we ended up developing rules to limit those fights. Now that I remember those, they where insane but worked very well. And we where barely 8 years old!
The kids I see now are being regulated in everything from mommy, form TV they can watch, to guys they can play with, hours out, and please let’s not mention fighting with siblings (if they have any, which is seldom the case nowadays).
So, it starts to look like a much more plausible theory. Indeed I myself will certainly raise my own kids according to exactly the same principles. As long as we all outdo the average fertility rate of our countries (1.7 here, easy to beat), we have a nice and slow strategy that could get results if everything else fails.
