Questions on Environmentalism

Please note this post is NOT about the merits of the science of environmentalist causes

As far as the definition of the word environmentalist I am using it as that which we would stereotype with the left, mainly it seems directed at attacking individualism and liberty

1. are there any articles that you could direct me to that show a clear history of environmentalism, and the people involved with it?

2. are there any known examples in modern science (for no good reason I’ll say post 1940) where some scientist would try to disprove the overwhelming consenus of scientific opinion other than environmentalism and evolution? If so, how was this situation treated by the scientific community (maybe It’s unavoidable but i don’t want to discuss the science wars)? I would much rather take a focus on the hard sciences.

3. Has anyone ever come across an environmentalist who just didn’t care how many humans died for environmental causes, as well as said they care for poor people? I honestly have came across quite a few the past month, it is very alarming (seriously these people admit there cause would kill people AND slow down technology). I know this isn’t mainstream behavior, but how prominent do you think this attitude is?

Modern eviromentalism was all spawned from Racheal Carsons book, Silient Spring, in which she documents the effects of DDT when used in mass. Which many people misinterpt her arugment from the start, she understands that pesticides increase crop yeilds which allow more people to eat but the insane practices of spraying it everywhere for every problem just causes cause widespead damage to everything that it had to be stopped.

2. Well I dont know if your talking about enviromentalism(air, water, earth) or climate change. For enviromentalism there has been tons of cases for pro for because its industry vs science. But generally the industries create there science in order to counter the independent. As for climate change there has been endless case of scientist who were against but now or for it. Also for global warming I was a skeptic untill i was doing heavy reseach in it and i forget the specifics but the story was like the top 8 ecologist in one type of region maybe like marshes or some other niche enviroment. But like each one while working in this feild was noticing this drastic change like a keystone species dissapearing at unsustainable rates. And this is of course of like a two year time spee and when one of them started asking others for help he found that that all of them were having this unexplainable problem at the same parrel on the earth. This was in the early 90s so no one was thinking global warming but if you toss a toadinto a cool pot it can handle it but if you toss him in when its steaming it will boil and kill it.

3. Yes I would say that about all the hardcore ones would do whatever it takes. Its just like the groupies of the enviromentalism but that mindset it alot more widespead even if they dont speak it. I would say about 10-25% of enviromentist are like that but honestly those are just the uneducated of enviromentalism. I was like that at first but the more I read I really understood the problem and its one thats even larger then the Fed reserve. (Bold I know but its human survivial vs united states so but they both need fixing by free ideals)

Thanks for the answers intersting for sure. But in regards to my second question, I was talking about any science other than environmental (or to avoid the obvious, evolution). I just wanted to see if this behavior is the same when the science doesn’t seem to have much political notions.
