So.. as long as you follow an orderly process through the government, it’s totally fine to destroy your competition with the might of the police.

I don’t think opposing things like SOPA will get you very far with that kind of argumentation.

Some battles are best fought at a later time, and, let’s face it, anti-IP arguments are too easy for opponents to willingly obfuscate.

But that clip doesn’t exactly leave me with the impression that Rand was defending IP so much as defending his opposition to SOPA. The important thing is he opposes SOPA.

Well Dr. Pauls arguments are easy for opponents to obfuscate.

Mmm, the problem is that IP laws all work the same way… SOPA is evolutionary rather than revolutionary. No one without a hell of a lot of money to burn wants to get involved in America’s glorious system of “due process”, so threats of legal action are generally enough to get ‘offensive’ content removed.
