Saw this comment in another forum by a left-wing hack Obama supporter:
"we need a legitimately progressive tax system, where those who benefit the most from the system pay the most into it. those who have an educated work force pay more than those who send their families to public schools. those who have a lot of property to protect pay more than those with nothing but their lives to protect, etc.
right now the tax burden is unfairly on the middle class and working people, while the very rich avoid paying their fair share. this has led to the decimation of the middle class"
Y’know, I’m not a leftie, but if I was a leftie, I think I’d be outraged that Obama is pissing away trillions on worthless pork-barrel crap when he could be spending it all on “education” or “health care.” I’m glad, of course, that he isn’t, because it would screw up both even worse.
But it’s interesting that when the chips are down, the left doesn’t really care about the “poor” or “human needs.” Their bajillion dollar spending packages obviously aren’t intended to help homeless people or anyone in real poverty.
I suspect leftists don’t want poverty to end, because it would end their reason for being. They hate it when capitalism reduces poverty.
