Reflecting on Marketing...

If the liberty movement, and I am using that term loosely for lack of better phrasing off the top of my head, accomplished one result, reflect on this one:

324 million views!

How did that happen? How does something go viral among kids and draw the attention of adults?

All of the adult oriented content on Austrian economics, free markets, politics, radio stations, blogs, and everything else we do overlooks the most impressionable target market…

Disney Channel… Mickey Mouse Club… Tom & Jerry… Superman…

Where are the Liberty Kids?

Is there some reason we could not compete with Disney?

When was the last time you had 324 million views?

Libertarians shouldn’t be afraid to do social engineering.

i would personally be nervous about indoctrinating my kid in any particular political ideology.

i would rather teach him to question authority and think for himself. he can figure out the rest for himself.

of course, i also think politics are among the least important things in our relatively blessed society. so higher on my list would be teaching him about the importance of relationships, honesty, etc. the things that matter most in getting through adult life.

Not fundamentally different, at least in regard to the process of implantation of an idea, with

Can’t be right. Look at the dates, most of the views were on the same day.

It seems like I have heard that song and dance before… ah yes the Ron Paul campaign money bombs which each occurred in one day..

“How did that happen?”

Demand. And that age bracket is all about what’s ‘cool’. There’s an entire empire / industry dedicated to it.

Political philosophy & economics for kids? Not so much, for the moment anyway. It is largely a product of the state schools / public education though. (For eg. Sugata Mitra’s new experiments in self-teaching. Mentioned in there.. after a few lessons, the kid went from wanting to be a sports star etc, to wanting to be Leonardo Di Vinci.)

Less demand for the mind numbing crap, less hits.
