So I made an account on Campaign for Liberty, and I responded to this one guy who called for socialism in order to defeat the corporations and other big business because the businesses were the ones using force against people. To put it nicely, I tore him a new one, and got a few messages in my inbox saying that they appreciated me standing up to him. However, this one kid wrote me a message, and I’ll post his first and then my response after. I just want to make sure that I’m responding in the ways in which I should be in order to get the anti-state message across.
Brian I was glad you stood up to iowahretic. I like him he does say things that make me think but is by far a radical.
I liked your response all the way up until you stated;

Lets no get carried away here, there is a ton of evidence that show corporate helped build huge Government, if you deny this you may be on the wrong path my friend.
The Federal Reserve and the Corporate banking Cartel are Corporate. Worse yet is Global Corporations with share holders from where? You sure they are backing your country or infiltrating this country?
Corporations that go out and buy up competition are not free market because they would encourage competition if they were.
Religions are part of the problem because they have people in them who think they are some authority, that their way of life is the only way of life. This does not promote freedom of Religion. I believe in religious freedom but that is not limited and is limitless freedom. Most of these problems are brought on by the religions them selves for not standing up for what it really means and how it is applied. Every time one of them give me a quote that supports the Constitution I just ask; so you are the reason it did not work. I mean we cannot call it successful but some want to claim some victory dance and nothing has been performed yet.

Thank you for the message. Corporations (corporations that popped up in the free market, not through government subsidies) cannot possibly influence government when a society abides by a legal document stating the government cannot get involved with the economy. The examples you gave like the Federal Reserve are not corporations. This you are mistaken about. They are private entities that would not have existed without the government in the first place. I am 100% against corporatism, which is when the government controls the private sector of business, as I’m sure every free market-loving person is. In the free market, many banks would have popped up in place of the Federal Reserve. Considering we’d still be on the gold standard, each of these banks would provide its customers with different-colored vouchers (or any design) that could be redeemed for gold at any time once the customer allows the bank to safeguard his or her gold. Now what would happen is the responsible banks would invest the money, and they’d furthermore receive more gold in payment from their investments. Then each customers individual vouchers would be worth more gold than when it started. Irresponsible banks might print too many vouchers (like the Federal Reserve does), and their customers would be disappointed because each of their vouchers is worth less than when they started. They’d simply leave the bank and use another responsible one. Now, as for you comment about corporations buying up competition - the goal of a free market is to avoid monopolization, not how to control it. Many corporations around the United States formed due to regulations and subsidies. Not all of them, but many. This is as product of government. Even if a business decided to buy out other companies, what’s the problem with that? In fact, that is competition because the owner of the bought-out business doesn’t have to sell. He decided that it’s in his best interest to do so. This lowers prices. That’s good. As for religion, it also doesn’t matter without the government’s existence. People can believe what they want. This is freedom of religion. You’re wrong when you say it doesn’t promote it. That’s as bad as the people you’re talking about. You just don’t want them to force their beliefs on you, which they cannot do without the government.
It seems like your dislike of corporations and religion stems from your dislike of the government. These things are not a problem when the government does not have the power to use force upon individuals. This is how the churches used to gain control in the old days. A mix of government and religion - which can be compared to our modern-day corporatism. I think you need to re-assess what you’ve learned regarding big business. Big business does not build big government. Big government exists because people vote for free services, SSI, etc. when their economic intelligence is lacking. When you question an institution, ask yourself, “Would this exist without the State?” and “If the government didn’t exist, what would happen to this institution?”
Federal Reserve: it would close down, holding no authority. Competitive banks would over-run it.
Religion: religion is one of the best things in this world. It holds a set of morals. Only when forced upon people with government power is it bad.
Corporations: Only subsidized and regulated businesses are illegitimate. Monopolies can form in a perfectly healthy way when its product’s value is too low due to over-production and only a few people should be running it.
It’s the State you should be after.
I find myself replying to people with even more of a complete anti-state stance as the days go by. Not to sound too melodramatic, but this website has really changed my life even through the few months I’ve been here. It was a little overwhelming at first, but I feel so much more aware of the reasons the way things are in this world thanks to you guys. So I would like to formally thank all of you. Especially those who tore my arguments apart at first because it hurt but it really has helped me learn more than I ever thought possible.
