He’s the strongest republican debater because he’s the smartest and can backup his arguments much better than the other duds.

Police State - Democrats will favor Ron Paul easily
If there are alot of democrats who are so-so on Obama, Ron Paul would win the election in a landslide.

I understand, but compared to Romney…drug war - no, foreign policies - no, police state - no
democrats have more common issues with Ron Paul than Romney. And that is probably why we’re seeing democrats actually voting for Ron Paul in some of the caucases.

This is why I don’t think Paul will spoil the national election for Republicans. If you consider the fact that his hard core base is not going to vote for Romney anyway, then I don’t see what the big deal is there. The flimsy supporters who are on the Paul bandwagon right now will vote for Romney since their main focus is to get Obama out of office. The far-left will vote for Ron Paul over Obama. The far-left plus the dissatisfied Republicans who realize Obama is the same as Romney cancel themselves out. Add this with his hard core supporters and Paul will get roughly 10% of the vote and nobody gets “hurt” if you are so concerned about the Republican Party.
The bottom line is, I believe if the Republican Party does nothing to court the Paulistas in the next few national elections, they can kiss their chances of winning goodbye. Paul has eaten up a chunk of the reliable Republican electorate and has changed the minds of the young people who would have developed into milquetoast conservatives. They aren’t going back to the Gingrichs of the world.
Walter Block - For the Democrats, Paul presents a gigantic problem. If and when he becomes the Republican standard bearer (take that, Hannity, Trump, Fox News, O’Reilly, Gingrich) he will roll right over Obama. I give Paul only a 50% chance to get that far, but a 90% chance of winning the presidency if he does. Why? Because Paul appeals to that “old right” Taft wing of the Republican Party that values peace and defense rather than offense. He will couple that with Independents and Democrats sick of all the wars, all the death. He will have a field-day exposing the gigantic gap between Obama’s promises and his actual policies. He will garner the votes of people who oppose Obama’s militarism, SOPA, NDAA, drug policies, unemployment, the list goes on and on.
There are numerous pundits with impeccable leftist, progressive, and socialist (it is hard to keep up with these people, they keep changing their name so much) credentials, who are seriously supporting Ron Paul, or at least contemplating doing so. Obama will be both out left-flanked and out right-flanked.
…A debate? Without a teleprompter for Obama? Paul will make minced-meat out of him.
