May I ask what happened during 1937 to 1938? The author never goes into detail or offer any evidence, but instead refers to quoting people who were not even there at the time.
I’m not sure but, I think Rothbard may cover this is in America’s Great Depression, if not look around the site. I’m sure you’ll find something.
I just glanced over the contents of AGD and it turns out I was wrong, however, this may contain something. Once again, I’ve not read it, so I’m not sure:

I sent the author an angry email about poor writing. For he presented opinions as objective fact, asserted his opinions were true without even the most basic of logical or pseudo-logical argument.
And he was wrong…
