It’s not (and contains the dial-a-fallacy fallacy, as there was no equivocation). How about learning how to debate without the use of fallacies? It will make you a much stronger debater.
Fuckin’ A, you’re cool.
Yes, I know. It’s all part of being me.
Have we reached ‘evictionism’ yet?
I think this will be the 3rd time I have asked this of the anti-abortion rights crowd:
A mother aborts (evicts) a fetus. Who has a right to punish her and why?
You are making a grave error: you are assuming that the anti-abortionists must answer your question. The anti-abortion crowd does not have an obligation to punish abortionists.
Your question is irrelevent. The anti-abortionists are free to ostracize abortionists and anybody else they believe are vile.
No, she is not obligated but then again, no man should be obligated to keep her or any other abortionist as a wife.
So, let us be practical. She has a few limited choices: 1) she respects the sanctity of the life she creates 2) she hides her history 3) she finds a man who disrespects the sanctity of the life she creates. In the long term, I think Byzantine has it right.
Choose your poison.
Oh! Wait! I forgot one more choice: 4) she can look to the state to support her!
B) Procreation is the undisputeable natural obective of sex. To argue this is to be alien.
Is it ? Too bad the vast majority of people engage in sex for reasons different than procreation. Maybe they all are ‘unnatural’ or something ?
A mother aborts (evicts) a fetus. Who has a right to punish her and why?
Good question. I don’t know how to respond, honestly. Perhaps light can be shed on your question if I pose this similar question:
A mother murders an obscure hermit. Who has the right to punish her and why?
A mother aborts (evicts) a fetus. Who has a right to punish her and why?
The only person who could arguably have moral grounds to punish her would be the man who joined her in intercoarse. Depending on his motives the product of their actions is just as much his as hers. Does the father not have responbilities to the son he created? Also lets take this one step further. Lets say a child has reached the age of 3, and the mother acting as the caretaker decides that the child is too much a burden to care for. Are you arguing she has the righ to kill the child?
Other then that my argument isn’t a justification to punish the mother at all really, though I suppose I could make one. My argument is on moral grounds and does not make a case that some third party would have the grounds to punish the female. My point is, it’s wrong in the first place. I’m not trying to argue about any type of civil punishment.
For everyone else who is trying to argue that procreation is not the natural point of sex, well I cannot argue illogical fallacies. Pleasure from sex is just what evolution has given us to create an immediate desire to perform the action. I think evolution itself has made it quiet clear that mammals have sex to reproduce. Arguing this is arguing against science. Disputing this is just silly and needs to nore real counter argument.
If you think the final objective of sex is just pleasure then I’ll simply agree to disagree with you.
as ‘unnatural’ as bonobos
filc, have you considered that you may be falling for a very human fallacy of imagining everything has a telos?

lol. best response everrrrr
How is evolution relevant whether the woman wanted a pregnancy?
How is evolution relevant whether the woman wanted a pregnancy?
How is gravity relevant when a person jumps from a cliff and breaks their legs? Come back to reality please. ![]()
So they have no right to fix it?
So they have no right to fix it?
Your repeating yourself and we are going in circles. Again, how or why do you fix whats not broken? We have a difference of opinion as stated before.
My argument is that getting pregnant is not an ailment. You argue that it is. Our differences are black and white. There is no need to further repeat ourselves.
Lets take your reasoning f urther however. If being pregnant is an ailment why don’t we just abort every pregnancy on the face of the planet and see where that leaves us as a species in the next 100 years. Lets take it one step further, why don’t we sterlize ourselves, everyone for that matter?
what do ailments have to do with it?
