Should the money supply be managed?

I say no. I have explained why on another thread. The thread is called a currency question. Currency question - #32 by Saan

Sorry if I didn’t link it. I’m working on the bbcode.

Unfortunately, the ‘money supply’ cannot be controlled, since no one knows that that term means.

Of course the money supply should be managed.

The supply of goods and services is managed by price signalling: informing producers what mix of quality and quantity people desire. It seems to me that money should be no different.

Okay how? How do you know the supply of money? I have various media of exchange in my possession, how you will you determine how that should be managed? I can manage what I have, but how can a central authority manage it in the aggregate?
