Has a list of anarchists born or having lived or otherwise heralding from the south ever been composed?
I know of scant few RADICAL liberal/libertarian thinkers from the south (though population probably played a large role in that)
I am speaking of such as Jefferson (Nock sure made him seem fairly radical). The southernn equivelants of Molinari, Rothbard, Spooner, Tucker, the like? Prominant southern abolitionists?
George Mason was pretty radical. He’s not so well known since he was antifederalist, stormed out of the Constitutional convention and referred to George Washington as his “former friend.” The only Southern abolitionist I know of is Moncure Conway.
Everyone who fought for the southern cause, lost a loved one to Shermans devils, refused to be reconstructed, and died for the constitutional Christian South was a freedom-loving radical. But you probably figured where I was coming from, just check out my screenname.
I was looking for southern born anarchists. If it seems irrational for an anarchist to be looking for anarchists within a general area deefined by states that he happens to also live in… so be it. [:P]
