p. 176:
“The systems all had the Warmonk, Inc, logo. It was a high-efficiency operation. It was free enterprise in action.”
Notice how this obviously intelligent and forward-looking author, Daniel Suarez, is completely unaware of the distinction between actual voluntary enterprise and state “enterprise” when it comes to the subject of state-subsidized “private” prisons. Who even knows if prisons would exist in their current form in the absence of the state?
Otherwise, I highly recommend this book to everyone.
