Pirates of Dark Water holds two meanings. It was one of my favorite cartoons growing up and I d/l music so that makes me an Internet Pirate.
The circles approximate the golden spiral, which is a reference to my username (phi). If you trace quarter sections of the circles but move to the next circle for a quarter, you will trace out the approximation of nature’s fundamental pattern.

I never noticed that they kind of look that way. I suppose that is all a crescent is, right? Except most crescents have a circle that intersects a circle at two points, whereas these only intersect at one.

If you look closely, they look like they do intersect at two different points, and that what looks like where they would intersect at one point is really just the side of another crescent.
