Just checking up on your musings and productivity
I just now finished my latest comic. I just met an artist whos willing to draw a new series I’v had the idea for in me awhile. So I’v started working on a script for that.
Very cool! Post a link
Right now I’m working on my senior project for my degree. I want to use James Scott’s thesis about southwest Asia to work on an anarchist perspective of Chinese history. Of course, I can’t do all that for my senior project and I have to be able to apply this to art and culture so I’m trying to focus on the interactions between Tibet and China post-1950. Part of my thesis is that Scott’s idea can be applied more generally and that Tibet is a part of Zomia, or at least possesss the characteristics of the other peoples of the area. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zomia_(geography) I want to show how a large state, such as China, exterminates other cultures and ways of living around it. My angle into art and culture will be on Tibetan literature that, in one way or another, comments on Tibet’s situation vis a vis China.
Jeremiah, I know I owe you an email. Let me know if you are still looking for ideas. Sorry for my tardiness.
Sadly I have not put any of my comics online. I’v been wanting to build a site to put them on, but I am completely ignorant about such things, and I dont have money to hire somebody to do so.
I would if there was a site that people could send their own work to to be posted. Does anybody know if of any such sites?
STA, can you link me to your work?
I got accepted to the university of new mexico… so moving my stuff from dallas to albuquerque is going to be a fun project for me ![]()
SirThinkALot,
If you have a libertarian comic, I can host them on my site on a special place for it (depending how good it is).

LS, take your time on that e-mail, i know you got a lot on your plate. I’ve decided to go a different direction with selling (i’m going to compile my site http://handsonmath.blogspot.com/ into a book). I do have a question for you though, for anyone really, but i know you have a lot experience in marketing. Most of us want more functionality out of our sites (i want conversation outlets, professional product displays and professional ways to link documents), but such functionality comes with a price. How would you gauge when lacking functionality is negatively effecting your name brand?
You can get hosting (cheap), install Wordpress (free), and buy a Wordpress theme (cheap; between 30 and 60 $). That will give you a store display and other things you may want. See for example: http://themeforest.net/category/wordpress/retail (non-retail theme may have shop elements too). They have templates for other applications (non-Wordpress) too. Most of the themes look very good and are very configurable.
I’m currently working on a big deal new video: Capitalism in One Lesson. ( link )
@Nielsio Those are nice! Could you forward your readers from a blogger account?
Over the past few weeks I taught myself how to make epubs. I opened up a few of the Mises epubs already on the site, and emulated them to create an epub of The Privatization of Roads And Highways (which I then emailed to Jeff Tucker).
I also made a few programs which make the epubbing easier on myself. One to handle Indexes, two to handle footnotes (Those are so annoying). Over the coming weeks I will probably also be making a few more programs to save myself time in the conversion process.
And then over the coming months I will be working on a lot more on the backlog of books and making epub versions and then emailing them to Jeff Tucker.
It really comes down to whether you feel you need more with your website that you can justify by the increasing sales and brand presence those features will generate.
I doubt you have any interest in becoming a webmaster. You want to produce content and market yourself. If you have a budget in mind, email me. Also, Jeffrey Tucker might have some advice about publishing via and through the web. That specifically is not an area I have expertise in.
Research paper for my micro class entitled “Three Explanations of Why I Intend to Major in Economics: Neoclassical, Behavioral, and Austrian.” Basically, it’s about how economists from these three schools tend to view consumer choice (or individual action).
Getting ready to start writing my next novel.
Finally getting around to finishing this video (the script has changed, mostly in the second half; see some pics here), and prepping what will hopefully be the ‘second episode.’ This also means preparing to promote/launch the series, registering for the Twitters and the Facebookies and such.
My musings
Nassim Taleb was great on Charlie Rose last night.
Blood of a tiger. WINNING.
My productivity
5 cans and one 2l of diet pepsi, at least 6 coffees. Zooming but getting cranky. Working on a game changing project. Can feel the hot breath of competitors on my neck.
Never work with people who can’t match your pace, and if your pace isn’t breakneck, hurry the F*** up.
What are you competing in?
