The Corporation - A Critique

I’m watching this now. It’s a 9-part answer to the sensationalist film The Corporation, a movie that blasts evil capitalist pigs and their corporate-y corporatizing as usual with logical fallacies and denial of even the most basic of economic principles.

This is part 1

This same youtuber has done an excellent job of defending Milton Friedman from the nonsense of Naomi Klein (also ignorant of economics or really general literacy skills it seems).

I cannot stand that woman; she reminds me of this crazy, wild-eyed psuedo-socialist at my college who did a terrible job defending her own ideology. Oddly enough, she used similar attempts at catchy buzz terms, such as Klein’s “disaster capitalism”, etc.

I would love to see how long Klein’s b.s. stands against Walter Block’s almost infinite patience, unless this has already been documented via youtube.

Its a great critique. I hate all these socialist documentaries that spread lies and mistruths about how capitalism is an evil that impovershes and is corrupt. What sickens me even more is that these views are indoctrinated in an 8th grade class without any alternative or opposing views being offered.

I think it would actually be pretty funny if anyone at the Mises institute had some pseudo-intellectual like Naomi Klein write a book about them.

Undefendable Jihad: The Rise of Walter Block’s Evil Capitalist Terrorism

It would be something like this:

“Walter Block loves the war in Iraq because of all of the poor women in these war-torn countries who are now prostitutes – people Professor Block thinks are “heroes.” He also thinks their pimps and ghetto merchants are good. This is all the ideal scenario of Walter Block. As Prime Minster Maliki attempts to privatize resources in Iraq like housing (yes, you heard right they are now having to pay for housing!), it’s no surprise that Walter Block defends private property in all of his work… especially the privatization of things that were once in the public good in Iraq 500 years ago like housing. This will of course allow Block’s other “heroes” like slumlords to exploit people. The Iraqi people preferred their traditions of democracy to what Walter Block calls (and I am lying…err. paraphrasing an entire term here) “Abu Ghraib Capitalism.” This is what happens in capitalist countries and what I assume he means by margarine retinal product or whatever that economic term is. They have to strip people naked and bite them with dogs in order to get them to buy products they don’t really want. And then when that’s through they take pictures of you stacked in a pyramid or performing sex acts. I mean my publisher told me that’s how I sold so many of my last book. Some books don’t sell even then.”

I lol’ed.

Alas, I cringe at how authentic that all sounds…

Haha that’s gold!

I decided to sign up on the forums so I can pay homage to the style of user icon sported by both John and Nitro.

I lol’ed.

Although, my avatar is not an actual pic of me :\
