we all heard of these arguments that people use to override ethics and economical common sense. he all heard of the broken window fallcy, but most americans fall prey to this mentality and make statements like “if computers or cars didnt break the mechanics would be on the street”, or if people werent kept sick the drug industry and doctors would starve.
my main gripe is not their ignorance, but their stirnerite egoism that lowers everyone to the level of mob associates or common criminals.
perhaps, but my point is crystal clear. criminals rationalize their crimes by egoist premises of daily survival. similarly many people like salesman (even though the’re doing nothing wrong) feel guilty and rationalize themselves with above mentioned arguments instead of solid ethics.
more BS rhetoric
wars fuel the economy and technology (especially medical advances), hence wars are permissible
if everyone was well adjusted no-one would be a stripper
we must make buggy software and have planned obsolescence, else everyone would be on the street
germany needs raw resources, therefore she can sit on everyone else
Yeah, and it’s a short-sighted kind of egoism too. If the individuals in question examined their premises and followed them to their conclusion they’d find themselves worse off, most likely.
