Wow I didn’t even know about these laws. I guess nationalizing the road system has resulted in more benefits for the government than easy access to tax collection and controlling resources. They can use the excuse of protecting the roads to claim ownership over your yard as well (not that they already didn’t).

We need to privatize the roads, I feel like so many problems would be solved. But that would take away too much power from the cancerous government.

It’s even worse than that. Safety has nothing to do with this case. “The purpose of the tree ordinance is to protect trees.” The church was fined for excessive pruning. They cut off too much.
