can a burkean whig understand that ‘police’ in a free society have an incentive structure to respond to consumer demand for things like actual justice and politeness, and that this is superior to monopoly provision of the service?
A Burkean Whig can certainly understand that the anarcho-capitalist has absolutely no idea how to transition to his idealized society, nor does he know how much damage instant changes in instutitons does to society. Revolutions only suceed when the revolutionary change is not so revolutionary.
