I was looking at the politically incorrect guides in the store and was kind of laughing saying they seemed pretty cool, but of course things are always to good to be true. I go to amazon to look at the others and i happen upon the biggest b.s. ever. This pile of arse was in fact the book on darwinism and the bible. First off how the hell in this day in age would you believe in intelligent design which is nothing more than a made theory to explain creationism. Evolution has been proved and we continually find evidence for it all the time. Then the bible one is just a kissing the arse of ultra religious people. The bible is just as much about hatred as the quarran or any other religious book. The bible preaches hate towards gays, women, and even supports slavery. “How blessed be the one who grabs your babies and smashes them on a rock.”-psalms 137:9 / “A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.”-1 timothy 2:11-12 / “When you go out to war against your enemies and the LORD, your God, delivers them into your hand, so that you take captives, if you see a comely woman among the captives and become so enamored of her that you wish to have her as wife, you may take her home to your house. But before she may live there, she must shave her head and pare her nails and lay aside her captive’s garb. After she has mourned her father and mother for a full month, you may have relations with her, and you shall be her husband and she shall be your wife. However, if later on you lose your liking for her, you shall give her her freedom, if she wishes it; but you shall not sell her or enslave her, since she was married to you under compulsion.” - Deuteronomy 21:10-14
It is a weapon of hatred and this stupid books do the same things that they criticize. They create false bull and pass it off as truth and in consequence infect the libertarian movement with conservative Bull CRAP.
As for the second bullet, its certainly true. The Medieval understanding of universe as having been created out of nothing was different from the ancient Greeks who believed it to have always existed as it was. To the Greeks the moon orbited the earth because it always had, that it simply was its nature(even, its will) to orbit the earth. The Medieval understanding of the universe as created out of nothing(and the rejection of animism) forced thinkers to explain the moon’s orbit. They concluded that moon having been set in motion(by god) remained in motion because no force stopped it. An accidental discovery, but an important one.
Though, it has to be said that the positive influence of the Bible and Christianity in Europe is largely the result of the interpretations of it formulated by Medieval Europeans. The ideas common in Medieval Europe about the Bible are far from the only possible interpretations, and its to their credit that they were able to formulate so many positive(pro-life) readings and avoid some obvious negative(anti-life) readings.
For example, the Medieval interpretation of the Bible allowed for works of art; but after the Reformation many sects took the opposite interpretation and banned images, much to the determent of culture.
Blah blah blah, all religions/ethnicities/whatever are equally evil.

Here’s a story, people. I belong to an ethnic group that was persecuted for 6,000 years. I belong to an ethnic group which was driven into the jungles, cut off, starved away, humiliated, and kept at the edge of survival. I belong to an ethnic group which eventually came back to civilization in the 20th century and was haunted by how the Old Invaders had already ruined it completely.
Who were these people who ruined the life of my ancestors for thousands of unimaginable years?
Hindus.
They killed our young men. They raped and humiliated our women. They butchered our children, so that our lineages would not continue. These tall, fair-skinned, strong invaders hated anybody who had dark skin. To those they kept as their slaves, they relegated to them a humiliating status with humiliating names. Those who would not be slaved, like my ancestors, were persecuted.
Because we had dark skin. Because we were demons. And because these invaders from the mountains of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan worshipped gods who told them that destruction and cleansing of the world was their duty to keep this world pure.
And what did these new lords do? They spawned Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi; Aryans of the purest Kashmiri Pandit lot who thought they were destined to change worlds and be heroes. The ones who destroyed our nation.
And what values did these Hindus bring? They had contempt for family life. For human values. For stable families. To them, it was wrong to “have monopolies on women”. It was a right of the man to satisfy his base urges on any woman. Family life was a rotten thing, and child was fit only for continuing one’s racial lineage. It was the duty of a high-caste Aryan to forego these petty bourgeois ideals of peasants - his only concern was leisure for the present. Such was the way of Nehru, who spent his life of the beds of English women (dark skinned Indians were beneath his contempt, obviously).
^Well it’s obvious that a lot of those politically incorrect guides are conservative oriented, and libertarian ideas only exist in some of them (where conservatives accept it). That’s why the one on the Bible just praises Christianity, and the one on Islam makes all Muslims look like Wahhabis (an extremist sect that most Muslims see as heteredox to a point).
If you want better libertarian minded books, look elsewhere, unless your just looking at one or two books.
The best among them are those by Murphy and Woods. The Murphy guide on the Great Depression is a serious work, a great work, with new material and outstanding and impressive research, probably the single greatest book on the topic in our time. To me, it is nearly tragic that this work gets buried in this rubble. Very sad.
I recently brought up Murphy’s Politically Incorrect Guide to Capitalism in a conversation and was surprised to discover that the reader was familiar with the series. He drew connections, brought up some of the other books in the series, and accused me of being a rabid Christian fundamentalist. It is truly sad that there exists in modern America a connection between free market economics and religious mysticism. It’s also very strange if one thinks about it, given that one is predicated on the highest rationality and the other on faith.

Amongst some academic circles, not belonging amongst those of leftist orientations, which extort sharing and possessing the ideal of a servant government in the service and benefit of her people, are viewed, and are committed towards the “exploitative” neo-conservative interests, your a scum of un-Christian virtuosity.
But as to evolution, its been proved: by observation, experimentation, etc. What the anti-evolution crowd don’t understand is that the debate among real scientists about evolution is not that it happens/exists, but what causes it. Any theories of evolution don’t deal with if it exists, but what causes it.
Part of the problem is the scientific illiterate don’t understand what a 'theory" is, in terms of science.
Yeah, I only got a few PIG volumes: Capitalism, Constitution, Great Depression, American History. And I got them due to who wrote them. While some others might be interesting, others I’m not to sure about.

Perhaps, but what do you know about evolution? As loopy as those ID arguments may be and as sound a theory as evolution may be, I bet a more informed ID adherent could compose better arguments and sound logic than the vast majority of people who “know” that evolution is correct, I would also wager you are amongst that group.

What is the Bible? What is hatred? Why do you interpret the Bible the way you do? What is the Quarran? Name other religous books. Why are their beliefs religous (which is I suppose synonomous with evil) compared with your beliefs (which are non religous and good)?
