@Muffinburg: I think there are some notable differences. First of all, DC was not toppling regimes across the entirety of Asia and was not on an active campaign of demonizing Asians and Buddhism as “violent people” and “a violent religion”. Second, I fit current events in the context of the idea that 9/11 was not an accident. Nor was it a remote “Gulf of Tonkin Incident” - it was meant to be psychologically scarring to the nation and, to one degree or another, it accomplished exactly that. Defense and “homeland security” spending went through the stratosphere in the wake of 9/11… I don’t think we’ve seen these levels of spending since the end of WWII. In my mind, this puts the current conflagration in a class of its own.
I think some people (LRC, Gary North, etc.) are playing on the End of the World trope a little too hard. WWIII will not be the end of the world. It will not under any circumstances involve nuclear weapons (except, perhaps, so-called “dirty bombs”). What it will involve is the economic and human depletion and attrition of whoever enters the war and devastation of anyone unfortunate to be caught in the cross-fire. Look at the devastation wreaked over Europe during WWII. It’s absolutely heartbreaking what the banksters and royalist Elites (and the “scumfuck capitalists”, to borrow a phrase from Bill Hicks) did to Europe, all in the pursuit of their little imperial agenda to terrify the world into accepting a global government.

Lew Rockwell interviewed Jesse Trentadue on the murder of Jesse’s brother, Kenneth, by the FBI. He uncovered a massive government conspiracy, and what’s more, he has the evidence to prove it. The interview is both fascinating and horrifying. Visit the website kennethtrentadue.com for the evidence. I recommend reading the interview, as Trentadue provides an analysis based on both interviews and government documents.
And to anyone who ever doubts Clayton’s conspiracy theories: maybe not all of his theories are right, as the government covers up the damn evidence. But here is a conspiracy that someone was able to uncover, despite the government’s attempt to cover it up. And this is not a grunt level conspiracy to save a couple of bad FBI agents’ asses. As you read the interview, you will see how high up the food chain it really went.
@gotlucky: Thanks for the link! I saw that on LRC headline and ignored it assuming it was some kind of old news about the usual USG murder and mayhem. I hadn’t heard the term “PATCON” before, but I knew it existed… I was a teenager during the 1990’s in the religious right-wing and we were aware that FBI infiltration was occurring in local militias (that guy with the East Coast accent and meticulously groomed hair that showed up out of nowhere in the militia meetings kind of sticks out like a sore thumb…)
You will find that the FBI also supplied the explosives for the first WTC bombing in 1993. They supposedly “accidentally” mixed up the live explosives with the dummy explosives they meant to give Yousef. I would be shocked if this wasn’t connected to PATCON.

I would have thought you’d have been all over that podcast when it came out. I would have sworn there was a short discussion of it here in Low Content or something, and someone was highly recommending it, and there was even this separate thread:
Don’t Miss Lew’s Latest Podcast About OK City Bombing
Also note the integral role the media played in every one of these events. The CFR is possibly the single most dangerous non-government organization - to Americans - on American soil.

Totally escaped my radar … in my defense, I’ve been buried at work and other non-ignorable demands on my time.

Did you happen to catch this one…mainstream news…
The New York Times: Terrorist plots, Helped Along by F.B.I
@JJ: Yep, saw that. I live near Portland, so the “Portland bomber” was a bit of a deal around here. I was unfazed by the news reports and immediately suspected it was just another FBI “sting”.

Nice find, Duchess.
Contrary to popular belief, the protests weren’t spontaneous or even tipped off by high food prices, but rathermeticulously planned by Ghonim and the “Revolutionary Youth Movement,” with members drawn from the opposition network ElBaradei had been busy building since early 2010. The date January 25, 2011 was specifically picked after the uprising in Tunisia played out.
For some reason, the anti-capitalist academics (the Birkenstock-wearing so-called liberal professors and their PhD-cadidate, underpriviledged urban students) seem to always miss this. Perhaps it is because these revolutions (e.g. Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Oakland, and your local public school walkout) are not “spontaneous,” but are “ignited” by people with ulterior motives; that is, the aforementioned.
This is how orders are sent down:
TPBT → CIA, Mossad, Ford Foundation, et al → liberal college professors → PhD and masters cadidates → The Youth , et al.
Goals → Strategy → Middlemen → Implentation → Actualization
The irony is that the majority of propagandists actually believe the propaganda.
