It’s not “conspirac-ey” If the what he posted is accurate, it is a government conspiracy.
To be honest, it’s irrelevent to me whether it is the government’s incompetence or malevolence that caused this mess. Not to mention the other crises of the 20th century.
The system is broken, unsutainable and immoral. That’s why I oppose it.

IMO I have a hard enough time telling other people that it was government incompetence that got us into this mess, telling them that the government orchastrated is a monumental challenge.

I just fixed the link. Curious to hear your thoughts. The title may seem conspiracy-ey, however, the facts may tell another story.
Were those bills presented as they are now, or was the bailout part just added to them recently? If the former is true, then that means some people within the government know perfectly well that their system will fail, and count on it.
Someone may be getting very rich from this “insider” trading. Knowing when and what stock prices will crash…and knowing precisely when or if they will be “rescued”, allowing them to buy them up at dirt cheap prices?
The title doesn’t seem unreasonable. There have definitely been cases of where legislation has been written in advance. Hank Paulson and co. must have known what was coming, after all, they’re in the action and they have the most of the information. It would actually be surprsing (and laughable) to me if they didn’t plan ahead.
Since the roots of the crisis go much further back than a year ago, it’s difficult to see the bailout as anything but an opportunistic poltical grab, even if they planned it a year ago. Government is a large organization made up of many people, some sincerely trying to do good, some deliberately trying to do evil, and some who are largely apathetic. It can be difficult to sort out who is truly evil, and who is just misguided.
But the same can be said for the general citizenry, most of whom believe that government must do something, and even many of whom believe that the bailout is the right thing to do.
Thus, as always, revealing conspiracy theories, even if they’re true, doesn’t help much to change the broad circumstances that made such conspiracies possible. I would worry much less about who is orchestrating the bailout and more on why so many people believe that government is the savior and not the troublemaker in this situation.
Halting the belief in the savior government, at least from my POV, was the collusion/collaboration between government and private entities, creating forced monopolies and/or subsidizing profits/losses. IMHO, understanding or at least acknowleding the orchestration behind the scenes is on the path to reliquishing the notion that government can solve all problems.
