The Rand Paul Conspiracy

The rumormill has foreseen a Rand Paul Vice Presidential nod by Chief Bazzarist Romney himself. I do not think this is true, nor realistic.

Romney’s campaign is shaping up to be the NeoCon dream team that the Bush administration was. Lobbyists, bankers, defense contractors, and Zionists.

However, after giving some thought to the issues Rand Paul has made a name for himself on, I think that the Temple of the GOP may have decided to give Rand Paul a possible Attorney General appointment. When you think about the issues Rand talks about they are, mostly, menial things (everyday people problems) not the big banking war or the actual military industrial complex like his father.

Rand goes to town on things like the EPA and lightbulb freedom, raw milk, he has stood up for Gibson, spoke out against Fast and Furious, etc. These are the only issues that the GOP will let a Paul get anywhere near. I can hear Karl Rove telling Rand, “You can prosecute Holder, we’ll let you get the Labor Dept. off of Gibson guitars. Just stab your father in the back, by endorsing Romney and you’ll have all the power and influence you’ll need. You don’t want Israel to be nuked then gassed, ground in blenders by Arabs, and forgotten by history, do you??”

I do like some of the things Rand has done and don’t necessarily think that him having a higher office would be bad, but it would tarnish his reputation and sully his fathers efforts. And knowing how BLJ (I mean LBJ) and Nixon stopped up the AGs Office with the CIA and FBI resources, Rand would have a lot of bureaucracy to fight against…not to mention the JCoS and JFK.

All of these rumours are the result of panic by Republican operatives who just did some adding and realized that the Ron Paul followers will not just fall in line behind their Bankster-Military-Law Enforcement-Health Care-Intelligence candidate. But this is not going to happen for two reasons:

  1. Rand will not carry enough Ron Paul supporters back to the fold.

  2. The Bankster-Military-Law Enforcement-Health Care-Intelligence Complexes would not be that supportive of a Romney-Paul combination because their second to worst enemy would be 1 heart beat away from the big job.

Romney and Rand are not having closed door meetings for no reason, shits and giggles, you know. That is why I suggest that he is not in line for VP, but a lower position of AG.

I have mixed feelings about Rand. He’s not a neocon but he’s not Ron either.

I think Rand Paul is pretty crooked from a strictly property rights libertarian perspective, so I wouldn’t put much past him. He’s also incredibly intelligent and knows the system PLUS he doesn’t seem very anarchist so I basically predict steady corruption for him.

I’m convinced Ron Paul is an anarchist and I find myself, once again, accepting his strategy, so my only input is that I really really really hope Rand doesn’t ruin his father’s hardcore legacy.

Candidates for president have lots of closed door meetings. It could be that Romney is trying to court Rand’s support as he is an increasingly popular figure not only in his own state but across the country. But I still doubt that Romney even with a full endorsement of Rand could capture enough freedom oriented voters to beat Obama as they (Romney and Obama) are too similar.

Rand already essentially endorsed him. Ron supporters are not going to bite that though.

JJ, are you counting his, “I’ve said I’ll support the GOP candidate, whoever it is.” statement? haha

Yeah, that, and this. That really surprised me.

That was the day before his half hour private meeting. I’d be willing to put money that thing was already scheduled when he did that interview. He knew what was coming. I’m just not so sure what they negotiated…or what came of it. Certainly smells though.

What difference does it make? Neither of them will be in the woods.

Wow. That is posturing if I’ve ever seen it. You scratch my balls and I’ll scratch yours, eh Rand? He literally in one breath says “Romney” then at the end accepts a wish of luck on behalf of his father. Who are you rooting for, Rand?

Has this made its way to people on the forum? I’m not sure how accurate it is, but it’d be great (ironically, of course) if it was.

The article in that link about the ‘30 minute meeting’ was written about a completely irrelevant issue. When was the last time a President was challenged and lost to his own party after just the first term? It never happens. Intra-party incumbent primaries are never a real issue for the sitting President. Obama has gotten a few decent primary challenges and what is made of them? Nothing. The meeting had to have been about a possible Rand Paul role in the administration.

I, also, don’t know what kind of leverage Rand could even have over Ron’s delegates. Ron Paul himself cannot wave a magic wand and make his supporters do things, why this speculation that Rand is goingto have such immense influence over the convention? No one wants a Rand Paul lightbulb freedom speech. I want to hear Ron Paul call the Neocon, “neo-jacobins” at one of their award festivals.

Is it just me or does it seem like Ron has kind of dropped off the face of the Earth? I haven’t seen or heard any public statments of his in weeks. I find it hard to believe that Ron and Rand “don’t talk about it [politics].” Rand is meeting with Romney, Ron is “on the phone daily with the GOP.”

Here is a thread where some peopel have discussed the previous quote.

So, Rand says that his dad stays in the race, despite the obvious defeat, to satiate his supporters and not to discourage them. One poster makes the point that Ron may not even have any kind of demands…

Not many, evidently.

Yeah I figured the whole “Romney’s scared of a 2016 challenger” thing was just typical media hype. They always need to try to have a novel angle. Basically the whole goal is to get people to either say “oh my goodness” or “Dang. Never thought of that. That must mean it’s pretty smart. I want to sound clever like that. I’m glad I read this story so I can relay it and be the one to tell people something they hadn’t heard before.”

That being said, I would be willing to bet Rand would be able to pose the biggest threat to any incumbent in recent history. But obviously that’s not saying much. I don’t think Obama’s a good comparison though. He never really had any challenger. Who are you thinking of? I wasn’t even aware of anyone in office even running. And even still, it certainly wouldn’t be a sitting Senator, who’s father just got through setting the brushfire of the greatest political intellectual revolution of at least the last century. (I realize I’ll probably get a lot of flack for that, but I think a decent argument can be made for it. Especially considering what’s ahead. Again, Ron Paul doubled his numbers from last cycle…and most of these people are under 30. Things are just getting started.)

Yeah I have no idea at this point. There’s too much crap. All I know is Rand is looking less and less good.

bahaha.

Did you hear? They’re already planning another Rally for the Republic (which, if you don’t know was the essential anti-RNC held by Ron Paul supporters on the second day of the GOP convention, right across town.)

People already know they’re not welcome at the RNC…but I think there’s an anticipation Paul himself might not even be allowed in, just like last time.

Yeah I think it’s pretty clear by now something went down around the time of those press releases. What keeps me optimistic though is the grassroots. The way they don’t live or die based on Ron. Outsiders may try to paint them that way, calling them Paulbots, and Paultards and any other names they can come up with (as of course one of the easiest ways to marginalize something is come up with a derogatory term for it), and no doubt there are some supporters that may as well be robots. But the vast majority of the grassroots were simply enlightened by Paul. And I think they respect him and feel a debt of gratitude to him for that. But I think they widely “get it”…what Ron himself has been saying for so long…that it’s all about ideas. I think these people by and large are supporters of the ideas, and are simply excited to have someone they can actually support in politics (of course it helps that the person they have available to support is also the person who woke them up).

But I can’t seem to read any piece from a grassroots supporter that doesn’t say something about the battle just beginning, or it always rages on, or something to that effect. They make it a point to make it a point that ultimately it’s not about Ron Paul. They know it, and Ron Paul knows it. But people in the establishment, the media, and everywhere else, don’t know it, or don’t want to acknowledge it…because it’s imperative that this movement gets marginalized. And then of course you have bitter asshats like Stefan Molyneux and Wendy McElroy who just epitomize the notion of jealousy, and are so envious, even to the point of resentment, that a politician could be so influential in turning people onto ideas that they’ve spent their entire adult lives slaving away to make even a microscopic fraction of the impact. So they attempt the same marginalize-by-characterize strategy in exactly the same way. Pretty pathetic actually, but mostly sad…as it’s kind of a waste.

Okay yeah, fuck this guy.

Even if what he said is true, you don’t go around saying it at fundraisers. If anyone is going to share something like that publicly, it should be the man himself.

I honestly wonder how close Ron and Rand are on all of this…as in, how much of this is Ron actually rubber stamping, and how much of this is just a free-for-all because he’s basically checked out and washed his hands of it all.

Well I typed a bunch then clicked it all off trying t oget a link.

I think the GOP threatened Benton (his career, Pauls reputation) and he sent out an unauthorized press release. “Jesse Benton, you’re not Leanardo. You’re a member of…”

Rand was told to make the gay joke at the church to activate religious voters who won’t be pumped about Romney. (Karl Rove fingerprints, was he at the 30 min. meeting?) And Rand was possibly offered VP (altough I think AG is more realistic). Then I had this funny thing about Romney and Karl Rove making deals with Rand and issuing threats against Benton…i wanted this picture to sum it up.

Then it ended with the somber realization that…

We should send Ron Paul a copy of Cicero’s Orations on the Cataline Conspiracy. (Benton and Rand get copies of Faust and maybe a H.I.M. cd or two). As much as we might like to say Ron Paul is Cicero the reality of it is that Ron Paul is Catiline (albeit not as violent).

What difference does it make? Neither of them will be in the woods.

I don’t want to be caged for living off the grid. That’s why I want the lest violent politician (Ron Paul) elected. Thats also a reason why I live in the least violent state.

How would you be caged? Won’t you be off in the woods? If you go live in the woods, they’ll never find you. All your survival skills that you learned from evil civilization will allow you to elude them…and that’s even if they come looking for you. They don’t like the woods. No one would spend time in the woods looking for the wood man. You could be like a tall tale. Go live in the woods before they get wise to your plan and catch you before you can escape. It’s already been almost 9 months. You may have very well been implanted with a tracer by now. You may as well go live in the woods. Go live in the woods.

That painting always annoys me because Cicero’s first speech against Catiline took place in the Temple of Jupiter Stator and not in the Senate.
