This is pathetic!

“Sadly, such games do not exist.”

  1. WoW includes auction houses, production, and trade–that’s one of the interesting parts.

  2. Long ago I designed a game, Hansa, intended to be the mutual advantage/trade equivalent of conquer the world games. A friend did some work programming it, but the project eventually ran out of steam, although I did try to revive it later as open source. For more on the subject, see:

That’s not the real David Friedman is it? This has to be a joke right?

that’s really him. believe it.

David Friedman makes more appearances than any Austrians excepting Kinsella and Jeffrey Tucker. To our advantage I would say.

Cheers. I don’t play WoW as I work online, and all of my friends who disappear from instant messaging for weeks at a time, send me messages like this,

“Where have I been for the last 3 weeks? Playing WoW. Seriously, stay away from it.”

Very cool. I know we have at least one game designer in this community, who if nothing else, would probably be interested to know this was attempted.

You make it sound that I don’t do any coding. While design is important, it is far more important to have a track record of producing games.

Well, anyway, I am willing to do this kind of work for a mercenary fee(below mininum-wage rate, at a super-bargain). Or if I am feeling charitable, I might be feel like trying it out just for the challenge.

However, it will be hard for me to try out writing new games, even if I have the honor of implementing David Friedman’s mad scheme. I am working on one other project that I felt necessary to complete on behalf of a patron, but there has been some significant delays and setback to the project.

When I will do Friedman’s game, it will be one of the first game I made to be public domain just so I can test if the copyright protection is indeed, all bullshit.

I wasn’t aware there was any difference.

Wow, that’s actually really really cool. I can’t believe the David Friedman actually frequents these forums.

“Frequent” would overstate it. I use a Google search string to spot online references to me, and respond when it seems appropriate. One of the nice potentials of modern technology.
