Last time I checked it was people that needed it. Actually insurance execs are exactly the people who wanted this bill. Insurance company lobbying reached a peak in 2009.

This reads like a laundry list of free lunches. This mentality is exactly why I keep rambling on about money not being the cause of scarcity. These people are actually oblivious to the fact that physical stuff doesn’t just appear out of thin air when the government declares that it should be “free”. How could an economic system that efficiently allocates resources compete with one that creates them out of thin air?

Population growth was probably more than that. And this isn’t a recovery, it’s a bigger bubble.
It’s understandable why people who are raised to believe that morality is not the same for everybody, i.e. that government can do things that individuals cannot, would be eager to use the government to loot others. Especially after they’ve seen themselves being looted by Wall Street/Washington D.C.
It also doesn’t help that the concept of rights has been so horribly twisted by our education system.
Maybe #4 will be balanced out by #3. You have to pay them more, but you don’t have to provide them with health care because that gun is on someone else’s temple. 
Well, my concern wasn’t really a moral one, but a practical one. Soaking the rich doesn’t create that many potatoes or schoolbooks for the poor, because the rich wouldn’t have bought those goods. Taxing a million Dollars from Bill Gates doesn’t somehow make a million Dollars worth of potatoes available. Where would they come from? Bill gates doesn’t consume a million Dollars worth of potatoes. If we spend more money on the same amount of goods, we’re not getting more goods for the same price, but the same amount of goods for a higher price. After all, money is a function of the scarcity of goods, not an expression of their objective value. That’s what statists don’t understand. They never actually deal with the underlying reality of scarcity, what they are proposing is always a free lunch scheme.
S/he forgot the part about how Obama saved the auto industry and all those jobs.
