There are a number of videos here where Tom Woods discusses various aspects of American history (there are 10 parts, each 1 to 1.5 hours each). In one particular segment he quotes a (IIRC) 19th century philosopher who made several observations about farmers, more or less stating “They cry for more when there’s plenty and demand support during the hard times”. Do you recall who this philosopher is and/or have his exact quote on farmers?
