Top 5, Fears, Needs.

There may be a poll thingy here, but your a good teacher if you can teach me how to utilize it.

So I’d like anyone to please give a marginal utility scale of theirs, or others, (and please denote which) of top five…

  1. Fears

  2. Needs

My top five fears are:

  • the state
  • it’s arms
  • sadists
  • misanthropists / misandrists
  • snakes

My top five needs are:

  • water - food - shelter, enough to live
  • motivation
  • happiness
  • freedom
  • endurement

So, if I may impose your opinions, what are yours and others top five, fears, and needs.

I really want to know what y’all think, as I tend to be not a sociopath, but a social anachronism. It feels like I’m bein’ treated like a wierdo cuz I’m smlilin’.

I’ve never been very good at making ranked lists of preferences. But here goes.

My Top 5 fears:

  1. Crowds. I have a sort of pathological aversion to large groups of people. I hate lines. I hate parties. Get-togethers can be okay.

  2. Personal Responsibility. I admit it. I’m lazy. I don’t want to take out the trash. Or clean the house. Or anything that involves much physical labor.

  3. Violence. I don’t like it. I haven’t been subjected to that much of it but I don’t like associating with people who have a propensity towards it.

  4. Pills and Eyedrops. I’ve never been able to swallow pills and my eyes are extremely sensitive.

  5. Driving On The Freeway. Yes, I’m a pussy about this. I got into an accident when I was 18 on the freeway and have been sort of freaked out when I go on it ever since. I’d prefer to not use it if I don’t have to. Ironically, more accidents happen in parking lots.

My Top 5 needs:

  1. Liberty. Without it, none of anything below means very much or can be obtained in a sensible manner. Afterall, what’s the point of surviving if surviving still dooms one to a nasty and brutish existance? To be alive, but still a slave?

  2. Survival. This is of course very important for obvious reasons. I don’t want to die!

  3. Independance. This is somewhat linked with liberty but not entirely. I obviously cannot expect to flourish in a state of total isolation. But I prefer to spend a lot of my time away from other people, particularly large groups of them.

  4. Love and affection. Okay, I admit it. I need a girlfriend really bad again. One that provides some kind of physical affection. It’s been a minute.

  5. Information. I live inside of my head. I thrive on ideas. I need some kind of intellectual stimulation to flourish.

What would the scale be like for a king? I guess it would depend on a certian one. The state may be one to set an objective scale about, I’ll try.

The state’s top five fears:

  1. the people
  2. their arms
  3. The curtian to be slid aside by Toto.
  4. Rules that bind the state to proceed in doing little or nothing.
  5. Security

Top five needs of the state:

  1. the people
  2. violence
  3. fear mongering
  4. money
  5. acceptance

I would still enjoy hearing what more of you think about these forces that compel.

My top fears are:

  1. Zombies. They will come, and damn it, no one will be ready. I dream about zombies regularly.

  2. Isolation. Not necessarily being alone, but not having anyone to talk or turn to.

  3. Random violence affecting one of my close friends or family. I worry about what might happen if one of my friends, especially a female one, runs into some freak.

  4. The dark. You never know what’s hiding in it.

  5. Failure. Enough said.

Top five needs?

  1. Wine. To make it, to drink it, to have it. I love wine.

  2. Women. Can’t live without them.

  3. Song. Music is a must.

  4. Food, specifically tex mex.

  5. Water. Love it.

As far as shelter goes, I like camping and I have a Honda Fit and you can live in the back of that little lunch box on wheels. So I’m set there.

I only have three real phobias:

  1. spiders; I love them, but can’t tolerate being near one.

  2. crowds; I’m not the most sociable of people, and I don’t like being in crowded areas. I also hate public speaking, even if I can pull it off.

  3. failure; I hate investing effort in something only for it to come out poorly. If I have a nightmare it is often something along the lines of missing a university deadline, or having an exam without having studied at all. Otherwise it’s 1).

Two pet hatreds to go along:

  1. Interventionists and collectivists of all stripes. Statists just get the most of it. There’s nothing more that I loathe than an arrogant “liberal” twit, and I will often strive to intellectually humiliate this sort of person.

  2. Violence, I suppose, but generally loud, obnoxious behaviour as well.

Top five needs…

  1. Liberty. I hate being being controlled.

  2. Leisure time. I am focused and hard-working when I have to be, but I like free time for gaming, reading etc. a lot.

  3. Not having to get up early for classes.

  4. Mental stimulation, including music.

  5. Good food.
