I’m wondering how many people have ever read this graphic novel? It’s honestly one of the greatest pieces of fiction I’ve ever read. There are parts of the plot which could be more clear, a huge and wonderful variance in experiences, and the ideologies could have been addressed in greater detail.
None the less, this book is absolutely fantastic, V is one of the greatest characters ever, the graphic novel has a great art style, an interesting plot, rich characters, and is excellent at provoking thought. This is a piece of fiction for every enemy of the state, although it holds special meaning for anti statist, as V can more or less be seen as the superman of all who proclaim to be anarchists.
As for the movie which I saw recently as well… Meh, its a good movie and the end is truly invigorating, but the ideological themes were really dumbed down (and the aspect of anarchism removed entirely), the poverty which comes with totalitarianism was also eliminated, and the theme pretty much turned into “freedom, justice, democracy, America” and having Evey in the story was actually somewhat pointless in alot of ways considering the ending.

Good Comic Book- Sleeper by Ed Brubaker . It is about a CIA agent who works undercover infiltrating an organization super-villains, and then his handler dies and he is trapped undercover. Really pushes questions about morality.
I too have enjoyed the comic very much. The “why is everyone burning things now that we have anarchy? Is that what anarchy is about?” scene is magnificent. I’ll actually have that scene as well as the one where V “breaks up” with Justice painted, fresco style, in the hall of my insurance firm (in a rather distant future, though).
The movie is refreshing although clearly inferior.
Yea when V is talking to Evey about social order and he said the line “This is not anarchy Evey, this is chaos” I just thought to myself “YES! Finally somone who gets this s***!”
Haven’t read the book, although Alan Moore is highly badass. I very much enjoyed the movie, seems like I’ll very, very much enjoy the book. Speaking of Alan Moore, +1 for watchmen (movie) I bet that book is even better too. I’ve also heard his work with the character swamp thing is highly regarded.
