i think libertarians often get labeled vulgar not because there are actually vulgar but because of uncareful language. “why is capitalism so unpopular” proves my point. any noninitiated person can take that acticle to mean that the author is defending the currently existing capitalism. the wording is as if we already have/had a free market and people are hating it. he basicly goes roughshod over the distinction between a functioning market and a hypothetical free market model.
btw this is not a flame post. because even the most anti-left libertarian will admit that the article has the appearance of defending a currently existing system.
Although your post is full of writing errors, I pretty much agree with you. When we hear people talk about how bad capitalism is, we need to realize that what they mean is that marcantilism is bad. Perhaps it’s that the anti-capitalists are simply spewing proganda that others have taught them, not that they have actually read and analyzed Marx & Engels (hell, I bet many of them don’t know who Engels is), and thus, don’t know about Marx’s explicit definiton and implicit definition of capitalism. However, we do come upon idiots who claim that have had a un-regulated free market, but that is where have to correct them.
also the word capitalism is often misleading. according to marxism a capitalist is someone who lives off the labor of others. not simply an owner of means of production. strictly speaking a street vendor is not a capitalist- although he clearly uses market signals to allocate his production. i prefer the strict definition of capitalism. a model were workers work for someone and don’t own the capital themselves.
