This is good. I have a recommendation and an offer. First, I recommend you reduce the buffer spaces between each spoken section or at least be sure to provide some kind of visual during those times. You shouldn’t have both blank screen and silence for more than, say, half a second. Second, I play the piano at an amateur level (primarily classical… Chopin, Bach, etc.) and I own a digital piano (it can do a strings voice) and I would love to record a soundtrack for this! If you’re interested, let me know. I was thinking of a grave, droning sound in the beginning when discussing war-making and then a more folksy, cheerful sound when discussing the free market. Let me know what you think.

What I don’t want to do is add a level of emotion onto it. Lots of people do that and often it’s misplaced. I want the logic and reasoning speak for itself. This is also why I chose it to be a little bit slow, so that people have at least a little bit of time to let it sink in and/or think about it.
Niels: I completely agree that the non-emotive approach is valuable. However, I am eager to pitch in and help any way that I can. The music doesn’t have to be emotive, it can simply be low-level background music (think elevator music) to help the listener tune out other noise. If you really don’t want music on this vid, that’s fine. But let me know if you have anything else in the works for which you’d like some free background music. And just because it’s free doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be willing to do a few iterations until you felt it sounded right.
