Weird silver bartering question

Hi everyone,

Do you think it would work if someone decided to make money by traveling to smaller, locally owned businesses (and/or through the internet) and trying to convince them to implement the acceptance of silver (silver bartering) as alternate form of payment from customers? I know DelValley Silver does something similiar, but they (try) to make their money by charging the member merchants 10 of their one ounce silver tokens. The way I see it, businesses don’t need to use anyone’s silver tokens because we already have silver coins to trade with (such as junk silver U.S. coins). DelValley gets away with what they’re doing because they aren’t breaking any legal tender laws because the transactions are only barter transactions which don’t involve dollars being given in change. The way this person could try to make his or her money would be by selling some handouts/posters to offer the business advertising their new silver acceptance (and details about how it works and its benefits to everyone involved) and also by selling a “starter package” of junk silver coins at a 25% over bullion premium to be given as change. Or this person might make his or her money by gaining silver-enthusiast sponsors to support the encouragment of silver in everyday transactions.

What do you think? Is this just too kooky and naive? Are there things I’m not taking into consideration (and I know there are)?
