I’m here to chew bubblegum and open the minds of the masses indoctrinated in slop-economics (usually some variant of marxism) … and I’m all out of bubblegum.
If Marxists want equity for all humans, what is their solution to congenital blindness, childhood leukemia, etc? What amount of wealth-redistribution makes a blind man whole? $10,000 per year? $1M per year? What is the number of dollars for which any typical person on the street would willing have their eyes put out and become blind? Why is it that the only form of inequality that Marxists ever talk about is wealth/income inequality? Why should a joinery craftsman with 50 years of experience building artisan cabinetry be paid the same as a teenager mopping a bathroom for weed money?
Museums curate objects and documents that most of us agree are valuable to society (broadly), so why is a private car-collector like Jay Leno an “evil capitalist exploiter” when he’s doing exactly the same thing as a museum… the only difference being that, since he is wholly private, he can (and does) make a profit at what he does? Why is a private collector who makes good choices in what sorts of cars (or other assets of historical value) he curates a “1% exploiter”? If he just handed out that money as cash on the street so that homeless/disadvantaged people can blow it on whatever – and the vast majority of them end up exactly where they started, a month from now – as an act of “philanthropy”, why would that be an act of honor, while curating history is somehow dishonorable? What the mind-mush socialist on the street is really demanding is that Jay Leno should give his cash to all his local liquor stores and weed shops because if he just handed it out on the streets, that’s where it would all end up anyway. Why is that virtuous, but carefully curating history is somehow a vice? It makes no sense at all, except through the lens of petty, human envy.
I’m ready to rumble… time to knock the heads of marxist morons and socialist sissies together!!
