Yes, I think they fell into the same trap as some of the Church fathers fell into, i.e. they could not make sense of the phenomenon of “usury”. I think this is why Hoppe makes explicit mention of the question of why anyone would accept such an arrangement (e.g. capitalists gaining interest returns) in the first place, because this is pivotal to the theory of exploitation. The difference is, they did not advocate forcing people to avoid such contracts.
