When I was a kid growing up in the 80’s and 90’s I grew up on Looney Tunes, Garfield, the Muppet Show (I know it wasn’t a cartoon). But what is this crap they show today? At least Looney Tunes often had a moral to the story and was even somewhat educational with the classical music that would play in the background. I always noticed the music because I played many of those songs for the 10 years I played violin so maybe I am the only one who really cares. But these cartoons today are just junk and I think many of them downright damaging the kids. God forbid a cartoon aires on television with characters like Yosemite Sam and Elmer Fudd running around shooting guns! “That just be too violent!” some parent would say, while letting their daughter dress like a whore at age 8 or their son listen to gangster rap music.
Don’t even get me started on how kids (especially the females) dress today…That’s a whole other post.
