Just wondering – if the Mises institue is considered an extreme libertarian school of economics, what are a few institutes/think tanks on the polar opposite end of the spectrum? Are there any online forums like mises.com but the polar opposite in terms of views, thoughts, etc. ? Thanks
you know, I’ve wonder this too. For a long time. The problem is that others are right on some things and wrong on some things. i guess we would have to look for an institute that is socialist and warmongering and against civil liberties. What would be that? I’m not entirely sure.
Well the opposite of an extreme libertarian school would be an extreme socialist propaganda machine, so the opposite of the Mises institute is the government.
I’d say if you could find a neocon think tank it would fit the bill. Neocons are economic fascists (with a twist of Fabian socialism), hardcore interventionists and tend to support socially conservative causes. However, I don’t think you’ll find such a place that is as radical in any of its views as the Mises Institute.
You have to have a very strong committment to a very consitent ethical idea to be as radical as the Mises Institute. Neocons are too irrational and partisan for such a committment.
“The quality of the Amerocan population, its education, its economy and technology, and its social disciplines are all, in one sense, “assets” by which the national well-being and security of the country must be measured.” The late Samuel Francis December 1991…I think you would have to say that the America First paleos are more economic fascists then neo-cons.(or at least equal)
