I agree with you, because you are thinking clearly. However, please explain that to the keynesians and micro-gods who think that $$$'s and “Utles” are what determines whether people are better off or not.
Maybe we should say, monetarily* you are worse off.

One major thing to keep in mind when reading these charts is that the distribution curve if income, wealth, and other assetts rises exponentially as it approaches the top. So, in the above, saying "40-50% of the people had incomes of 36k-57k means that 40 had 36k, 41 had 36.2k, 42 had 36.6k,… 48 had 55.7k, 49 had 57k, etc.
The real “average” joe earns at the most 40k in his/her household.
The 2006 economic survey also found that households in the top two income quintiles, those with an annual household income exceeding $60,000
Notice only 20% of the country earns above 60k/year total income.
(Another note is that I don’t much care for income distirbutions. Even as concentrated as they are, they pale in comparison to actual wealth distribution and debt distribution in the United States, as you will see in my first link)
Lao, in terms of income, not wealth, even your data seems to me to display the fact that the average income is still about 45K a year and that the majority do make more than 35K a year.
Also, the top two quintiles making over 60 K a year means that this is 40 percent of the country, not 20 percent. Please correct my if I have misinterpreted anything, I am not the best with data.
i don’t believe that government is really necessary to help people who have bad runs of luck.i don’t know if many here people noticed new zealand my nation had a bad earth quake before japans. a situation came about where thousands of people homes were destroyed and there was no way the government could even think of fixing that problem. so what happened.families and friends and strangers offered accommodation food.i never heard of one person weather a tourist or kiwi with out a bed I’m sure there must of been someone somewhere.we offered our house but took a while to even get a tourist stay.my question would be do we really need a robin hood to do good.i have heard from tom woods. i think that the 1880s were the would most charitable time in history didn’t have big welfare then and productivity was far lower.
According the the rep at the US Census B this link represents the most current information the government currently has on such data. While other information might exist, I was told, it ‘pulls’ from their data and simply represents a best guess of that “researcher”. But, i have no clue.
Obviously my 1/3 was incorrect. I believe I picked that fact up from 1/3 of the world living on less than “X” dollars(which was an obscenely low number).

I find that the biggest problem most “f’d up” people have is the belief that they are “f’d up”. When you realize there is really nothing wrong with you you suddenly become well.
