Are there? I’ve seen a few letters from libertarian soldiers published on the blog on LRC, but most seem to be under the impression that they’re “protecting our freedoms” and such.
Because being a small government conservative is somehow the same thing as being a liberal.
Alas, true liberals from back in the day of Bastiat would chuckle at modern day liberals thinking that coercion is noble work.
Liberalism is never seen to be just what it is, and liberty is never seen as just what it is.
(Note that I don’t use the retarded American word “libertarian” because it is so damn long for no reason)

Out of my platoon is infantry school none of us were libertarians.
I’m not sure how many “libertarians” are in the military but I suspect not that many. For those that are, I’m sure they came to embrace libertarianism after they had joined. Perhaps seeing what some have seen in the military have made them libertarians. Murdering people or seeing people murdered may make one very opposed to violence and aggression and thus supportive of libertarianism.
