Not at all. Creating a well-run establishment is a difficult thing to do, and I’ve been in countries where institutions are in a state of collapse, so I understand the difficulty of running a company. Institutions don’t come from nowhere.
It’s not correct to put me in any one philosophical or economic camp, because I’ve learned from many. But one is American libertarianism, market libertarianism. So as far as markets are concerned I’m a libertarian, but I have enough expertise in politics and history to understand that a free market ends up as monopoly unless you force them to be free.

Not only is he incorrect here (there has been no trend, in capitalism, towards monopoly and centralization), but he commits the same fallacy that all socialists are guilty of. Namely, he conflates his own subjective and arbitrary value judgements with absolute and categorical truths. He supports capitalism insofar as it manifests itself in a way that he supports; once it diverges from his ideal, which exists only in his own mind, then, according to him, force is required. He claims that “you have to force capitalism to be free,” and that Wikileaks “is designed to make capitalism ethical.” Both statements are absolutely meaningless.
That amazes me as well. This is exact same thing that happened with the Pentagon Papers. With the Spycatcher book in the UK. There are countless examples of the results of censoring. They never learn.
Whats the word for that? When a sentence contradicts itself like that? I know some might say “nonsense” but I swear there is a more accurate word.
Well even though he may not be as radical as we are, at least he’s not to far away. You probably get him engaged in having a reasonable discussion over that issue, (depending upon his personality) which would be easier then convincing him if we a full on social-democrat. imo.
Btw…I respect Mises for being a center of knowledge and beacon that spreads austrian economics, voluntaryism etc. But this would be a key chance to take some action. I hope someone writes/has submitted an article that shows how people can donate to wikileaks, and analyses the legality of this whole issue. Or do you think the first part is too risky for LVMI?
The US empire is the most flagrantly criminal enterprise in the history of mankind. Yet, among 100’s of thousands of its “leaked” documents, not a shred of evidence can be found to expose the brass-knuckles hidden behind the stars and stripes.
You know what I found particularly funny today. Sean Hannity was on his radio station and he was talking about how Clinton is using spies to spy on private individuals and making a big fuss about this. Yet he is claiming that Wikileaks destroys the international trust of the world community and those who exposed it should be jail for discovering something that Sean Hannity repeatedly says on his show ‘Don’t trust the government.’ Glenn Beck says it too and here is a perfect example of reasons for not trusting the government. What do Conservatives do? They side with the government in thinking this is a travesty.
I’ll be surprised if he ever goes free. This is why Ron Paul never travels alone with a woman. They always get people through sex, implicit or explicit.
They are only arresting him on the rape charges so that they can further pursue some trial on the recent leaks. I wonder if he gave the Bank of America hard drives to anyone before he was arrested. They might come to light in the next few days now that he has been arrested.
