The point being if they really are “voluntary” as some proponents say, then the enforcers aren’t necessary.

Reid appears to be correct in the sense that there is nothing saying who you have to pay a tax to. I know that is the case in Canada. The problem is that employers are all brainwashed by the CRA to think that they have to pay you through the SIN. Good luck finding any large scale employer smart enough to see past that. My cousin in Texas had that issue years ago. He was making some huge salary in Houston and his employer refused to not write his name in ALL CAPS.

What does he do to get a huge salary in Houston? I want a huge salary…I’m tired of being a teacher…worst job i ever had.
He was a server admin or some such. He hasn’t worked there in a long time. He quit the job and moved onto a farm in defiance. What’s more is he had major backpay and didn’t collect it.

Collecting taxes fits the definition of extortion exactly. The one and only reason it isn’t a crime and the tax collectors don’t have to worry about going tro prison is that the almighty State grants them immunity. Without taxes there would be no State, no wars, relatively little crime, and the incedence of initiated aggression would be reduced to a small fraction of what is is. Relief from taxation, state aggression and all of the other forms of government intervention in the free market would release a tsunami of pent-up productivity and creativity the likes of which the world has never before experienced, which would probably be called something like Freedom’s Great Leap Forward.
The effects of taxation on society are virtually the same as the effects of slavery. It enervates everything associated with it. As slaves and slave owners both tend to lose their moral compass under a regimen of legislated slavery (all slavery is sustained by legislation), so too taxpayer and collector are morally emasculated by taxation.

I used to work in IT…awesome…till I got laid off…
the first 2-4 weeks are horrible…you have to break the students in…you never know how you’re classes are going to be…
when you finally get all the students moved to where they need to be away from friends…they start chaning students around…
its difficult to punish kids…
when they are late…nothing really happens…which sucks, because the bad ones don’t care about collecting tardies…
if you are able to send them out to a team leader…enough times…eventually they might make it to ISS…but they don’t mind that…
they get to cut in line for lunch…
I want to get back into IT…I used to do web development…hard to find stable work doing that…
